9/11/11 Marking 10 years of A Sad Tragedy

Today marks the 10th year of 9/11. Ten years ago I was a 6 year old 1st grader. I remember being in class, then all of a sudden I hear the principal get on the intercom telling all the classes to go to the multi-purpose room. As we were all walking to the room we were wondering what was going on. When we got in the room the principal turned on the TV and tuned in to the news. I remember watching the first building burning as the new casters were telling us a plane has hit the World Trade Center. We all watched in amazement. Then a few minutes went by and we watched as the second plane hit the next building and they announced it as a terrorist attack. I started to get scared because my dad was working for the government at the time. I watched as the buildings started burning and collapsing and all I could about is if BOTH of my parents were alright. When my parents came to pick us up I felt a sense of relief, but I still worried about my other family members that worked for the government. Everyone was alright but this tragedy made me appreciate the things have in life. People lost their spouses, children, close friends and loved ones and they have been missed very much over the past ten years. I continue to pray for the families of the innocent victims of 9/11 and hope they remember the good times they had with their loved ones.
